Due to the man-made global warming, mankind is facing tremendous challenges. In order to reduce the hazardous consequences for future generations, a responsible use of finite resources and the development and improvement of sustainable technologies for energy conversion and storage are needed.

The Mez-Starck-Foundation considers it to be an important task to foster the more efficient use of renewable energies. On the one hand, this comprises the development of methods and materials for the low-loss conversion of renewable energies such as wind or solar energies. On the other hand, to store these energies for an emissionfree mobility and the usage of mobile devices, more efficient storage devices with improved energy densities need to be studied and developed.
